I love to be tan!

Now you all know I have been an avid Jergen's fan for a LONG time
But when I got a shipment from Sephora I received a sample bottle of St Tropez
bronzing lotion. It was INCREDIBLE!!! I got such a brown color. I still feel like I can
get a little orangey from the Jergens or L'oreal Sublime bronze. The smell was pretty good
too. The ONLY issue was that the palms of my hands were stained for a couple of hours. After a couple of washes and scrubbing HARD it eventually came off. I have to say though that I may buy a big bottle. I haven't yet BECAUSE its $40 and that to me seems pretty pricey for a self tanner so I may buy one and keep it for special occasions.

Primer

I have never been one to use a foundation primer. I guess I never
really thought it worked and since I have oily skin I thought it would
make it worse. So when I got a sample in my sephora order I reluctantly
tried it. WOWZA what a difference. My foundation went on so smooth and
it really really helped with all the fine lines! I immediately went to
Ulta and bought a bottle!

Wow I suck at keeping up with blogging!!!

So Yes I realize that its been FOREVER since I have blogged on here. Like MONTHS! But I have been trying some new stuff and I really wanted to share!!!

New Hairspray

One of the girls at the salon recommended this Hairspray. It's Tigi Bed Head's "Masterpiece" hairspray.....

I LOVE IT!!!! It has awesome hold but not too sticky. I hate sticky hairspray!!!! Plus it smells like sweetarts and hello anything that smells like candy gets an A+ in my book! You can buy it at any salon that carries Bed Head. Of course you could always come out to "The Rouge" and get it there..... I'm just sayin!

No waiting polish!

Ok so I LOVE me some OPI nail polish however I have been polishing my finger nails a lot lately and it takes FOREVER to dry and by the time I put on a base coat, color and then top coat it takes forever and they always get all nicked up. So while I was at Meijer this week I decided to just pick up one of these fast drying bottles . I actually bought Racy Rouge and its more of a red color. I really like the color!!! So yesterday I quick slapped on two coats before work. No base coat. No Top Coat. 5 minutes of being careful and DONE! Totally dry! And shiny like I had put a top coat on. I cannot believe it! I'm going today to buy a few more colors because its so easy!!!

Pump me up!

The salon I work at is BIG on the "Big Sexy hair" line. So in order for me to be the most knowledgeable receptionist that I possibly can I have decided that I MUST learn more about these products. Ha! So if my husband is reading this then he should know that this is strictly for work purposes.....ha ha ha. So anyway, I have been hearing the girls talk about this stuff. You spray it on the roots of your hair. I focus on that area at the top/back of your head.....what is that called?? I can't think of the actual name but you know what I'm talking about, where you do your poof! Ha! And it gives you some extra volume and also some grip to your hair so that when you backcomb it stays longer. I really like this stuff. I wasn't so sure because if I put to much product in my hair it turns into a greasy mess. But this is working out fabulously! I think it run about $17-$18 and its a HUGE can and you don't use that much so I'm sure it lasts a while!

Time to try new shampoo/conditioner

I'm trying a new shampoo and conditioner. Its from the Sexy hair line. Its called Silky Sexy Hair Lite. They have the lite for fine hair and then regular for thicker more coarse hair. So far I'm loving it. Leaves my hair feeling SOOOOO soft and well Silky. But yet it doesn't weigh down my super fine thin hair which means A+ in my book. And its really affordable. The Shampoo was like $12 and the conditioner was like $13. So for a salon quality product that is great in my book!

Whitening toothpast

I have been using this new Crest 3D toothpaste, I normally use whitening toothpaste because of my coffee and Diet Coke addictions so I haven't really seen a difference for myself BUT I convinced Nate to try it with me and have seen a huge change for him. He has tried the white strips but they make his teeth super sensitive and he doesn't normally like the taste of any whitening toothpastes but he said he doesn't mind this one. I'm just shocked that I have seen that much improvement in the color from using it for only a couple of weeks.

Working Woman!

After we got back from Florida I just new I needed to get a part time job. I needed to be around other adults, get out of the house to do something other than shop ya know. So I started looking around and found NOTHING that seemed like fun. I had been warned about finding jobs on Craig'slist because a lot of the time they are scams or crazy door to door sales jobs. Well I still looked and I'm very glad I did. I came across an opening for a salon in Allendale which is about 10 minutes from my house. It was for a part time receptionist. Well some of you may not know this but I actually went to Cosmetology school many many years ago but dropped out because I realized that even though I Enjoy the salon atmosphere I do not like to "Do" peoples hair. I also was a receptionist in a hair salon all throughout high school.

Anyways I did some "cyber snooping" to check out the salon before going to the interview. I was super picky about who I would be working for and with. I knew I wasn't going to be paid much so it had to be all about the people and the fun factor. I found the salons website and they had pictures. The salon looked very cute and trendy and all the girls looked stylish with great hair. So I had a good feeling going into the interview that it was going to be a great place to work.

I stated just over a month ago and I LOVE IT!!! I have already formed some great new friendships. They are AWESOME girls to work with!!! The clients are great and I get to go spend a couple of days a week in a totally "Girlie" environment. I really enjoy interacting with all the clients and checking out their new hairstyles.

I even got my hair done there this week. I went to Erin who did a FABULOUS job on my hair cut and highlights. If you know me you know I'm very picky about who I go to. I'm not that picky about my actual hair cut but I am about the color and Erin NAILED IT!!!

I was going to Panopoulos in Standale and paying a small fortune every time I went in. So just the discount I receive on my hair is enough to keep me working:) Ha!

So here is where I put in my plug!!! If you are looking to get your hair done by a FABULOUS new stylist Please consider trying out

Smells soooo good!!

I got a sample of this perfume in my last sephora order. OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Smells so good. Might be too strong for some but I think its fabulous. It just smells sexy and hot. So Nate if you are ever looking to buy me a new perfume. THIS is the one!!! Now I will just sit back and wait and see if he gets the hint??

Oily mess

I think the weather change is NOT agreeing with me. Basically I look like I have been working in a fast food restaurant 24/7 because my skin has been so oily. Let's just say its NOT pretty. So I was looking for something to help me. I've tried the blotting papers and I do like them but for some reason I always forget them or I'm not really in a place that I can pull them out basically mop my face off. Ha! I went to my trusty friend Sephora and found this powder. You put it on after your foundation and its supposed to last all day. Its basically like a white pressed powder. It doesn't go on white though. I use my bronzer brush to apply it so its not too thick. I have only used it a couple of times and I THINK I like it. I'm not totally convinced because I have had to apply it a couple of times throughout the day. Its NOT cheap and I still have to use my foundation AND regular powder because I like the color so I'm not sure if its going to become part of my permanent "Line-up" of make-up.

This is the description that Sephora has on their website:

De-Slick Mattifying Powder
What it is:
A translucent mattifying powder.

What it does:
Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder is a shine-stopping pressed powder that blots oil and keeps shine at bay. The lavender shade applies invisibly and works on every skintone. Try it on naked skin (if you run into the hot guy at the gym), or over foundation (for touch-ups on the dance floor without destroying your makeup). Because the formula contains super lightweight, oil-absorbing rice powder you won't feel the powder, but you'll see the shine-free results.

Its coming.....June 4th

So as I placed an order this week with Sephora. And Nate if your reading this just back off alright, I only bought the necessities!! Ha! Anyways I thought to myself. This could quite possibly be my last "ORDER" from Sephora online.

Are you sitting down?

Are you ready for this little tid bit of info?

Sephora is coming to Grand Rapids!!! June 4th. At Rivertown, where the old Eddie Bauer used to be.

I know, are you almost peeing your pants with excitment?

One of my friends works for the company. She actually travels to the cities where they are opening new stores and helps with training and getting the store up and running. She offered to help me get a job there but I just don't think that is a great idea seeing as that I would probably have to get a 2nd mortgage on my house to pay for everything I would purchase while "working" ha!!

Warmer Temps = FLIP FLOPS!!!

We are supposed to be hitting 70 degrees this week in Michigan and I'm SOOOOO excited to bust out my flip flops. My most favorite thing about summer is the flip flops.

Last year I went on a Michigan City Shopping Trip with some of my girlfriends and they introduced me to J Crew Flip Flops. OH MY GOSH I was in "Foot Heaven" they are the most comfortable things in the entire world. I bought such a cute pair and they were only like $15 and I wish I would have bought more:( I just looked at the J Crew Website and picked out a few that I would love to buy but to me $25 is a little pricey for flip flops. What a GREAT reason to take a drive to the outlet malls!!!

These were two that I picked out from the website that I thought were super cute!

Need to see my shadow??

My most favorite eye shadows ever have come from MAC. They just go on so smoothly and last all day. And they are only $14 a piece which isn't bad in my book! My two "Can't Live Without" colors are: Naked Lunch & Shroom.

Did you know that if you save up 6 of you old containers from MAC you can trade them in for free products? If you take them to the mall you can trade them in for a free lipstick. HOWEVER if you take them to a MAC free standing store you can trade them in for a free eye shadow. I'v got enough old containers to get about 3 free shadows so I'm hoping that when I go to Chicago this spring I can find one of those free standing stores!!!

WOWZA!!!

I finally got my package on Friday afternoon..... So of course I did what any normal person would do, I ran to the kitchen sink, washed my hair and tried out my new product!!! DUH!!! If you don't remember what I'm talking about its The Full Thickening Cream from Living Proof that I ordered from Sephora.

I ordered the small bottle which was $14. I'm kicking myself now because I think I could buy this stuff by the GALLONS. Anyways I honestly cannot believe how well it works. Between this and the Moroccan Oil Treatment I feel like I have a whole new head of hair. I don't normally have such good luck with hair products. Probably because I have super fine hair and most products either make it too greasy or just plain old flat and blah. If you have fine hair YOU NEED TO GET THIS!!!! If you have thick hair then just never mind and enjoy your Luscious locks and spend your money elsewhere. I cannot even explain it, my hair is fuller, thicker, bouncier, shinier and even when I put in my ponytail to wash my face tonight the pony tail was thicker. I have read that some people use to much and it really weighs their hair down so I was using it sparingly the first two times then today I used a little more than a dime size found the perfect amount for me. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!

Come ON Mr UPS driver.....

I just placed an order @ Sephora and this was the first thing I put in my "basket"!!! I have heard so many great reviews for this product and I cannot wait to try it. Its a thickening cream made by a bunch of nerds from M.I.T....no seriously it is!!! I have SUPER fine hair and I'm always up for something that might make my hair fuller!

This is what the "formal" description of the product is:

Full Thickening Cream
What it is:
A lightweight cream that leaves hair looking and feeling noticeably thicker and healthier.

What it does:
This styling innovation allows fine, thin hair to act like thick hair with naturally soft, touchable body. By depositing thickening points on the hair strands, Full creates a thicker surface that enables fine hair to have natural movement and bounce, beautiful shape, and volume throughout the day. While traditional thickening products create a hard, brittle hold that collapses upon touch, Full allows your style to remain flexible, soft, and resilient. Go ahead, run your fingers through your hair, no need to fear a style fall

And Here are some of the Reviews from customers that have tried it:

i have thick hair!!- 02.24.10
i love this stuff!!! it really does thicken your hair! i have fine to medium hair and very long hair and this really makes it thicker and doesn't weigh it down or feel sticky. i actually looked at a single strand of hair and it literally was twice as thick as it normally would be!! i wish they had a bigger bottle though for the money. like i said i have very long hair.

Volume without making my hair look dirty!- 02.23.10
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use

I was at Sephora buying something and I asked a Sephora associate if she had tried this new Full Thickening Cream or knew anything about it, as there was a large display of it and I was considering buying it. She had BIG hair - shiny, thick and tons of volume - and she said she actually had fine hair but was using the Living Proof cream and it made her hair have tons of body. I was really impressed - if it can do that for fine hair, what can it do for mine?

I have chest-length hair that is on the fine side, but not overly so, and I used about a dime sized amount in my hair. Ran my fingers through my hair a few times (which was easy btw) - it had lots of body, and felt really soft and did NOT look at all dirty or greasy (something I was worried about). This lasted all day and it seemed like the more I touched it/ran my hands through it, the fuller it looked! Love it and will be purchasing the large
After my experience with the Moroccan oil and what a HUGE difference that made I cannot WAIT to try this out!! I'll keep ya'll posted!

Better Than Botox???

So I was at Walgreens the other day just browsing in the face cream department. Something caught my eye. "Better Than Botox" hmmm? Really? So I picked it up and realized that it was on clearance for $15.99 AND I had a $5 off coupon that I had gotten in the paper a few weeks ago. I decided what the heck, for $10.99 I would try it.

So it's a two step system. You put the first cream on and let it sit and then put the second serum on. I'm not really sure what they say they are supposed to do. I put too much on the first time and it was kind of an awful mess. I used it around my eyes, on my upper lip lines and then between my eyebrows. And I'm not kidding you it actually worked to smooth out the wrinkles. I'm not sure how? I don't really care how to be honest as long as it worked. I have to say that thanks to good genes I have very fine lines and not deep wrinkles....YET! So I'm not sure what it would do for anyone else but I was quite surprised.

Better than Botox though?? Whatever

Update on Lash Serum

So it's been about a month since I started using the Loreal lash serum. Do I notice a difference......Maybe. I'm not convinced that its REALLY working. I feel like maybe my lashes are a little bit fuller and longer but I am not 100% behind this product yet. I am going to finish the bottle and decide then if I'm going to buy it again.

I'm still waiting for my husband to agree to me getting the $125 bottle of Latisse but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Freeze It!

One of my blogs wrote a review on this hairspray, said it was awesome. I bought it while I was in Florida because I couldn't find it anywhere around here. I got it at Walgreens for $5.99. The first bottle I got was broken and I had to return it because it wouldn't spray right. The second bottle I got worked pretty good. But I have to say it's only OK. The pro's of it are that it makes your hair really shinny, it smells fine. The con's are that its kind of sticky. I love it for my bangs but that is about it. I have to put a little hairspray in my hair to give it a little something. Otherwise my hair is so fine that it just falls. I would buy it again I think because it's cheap and smells ok. (smell is a big thing for me) I cannot stand something that stinks!! Ha! Since getting back from Florida I have found it at Meijer also. I'm still on a quest to find some GOOD hairspray. I'm open to suggestions!

lash attack

So ya'll know I'm a sucker for mascara, false eye lashes or anything like it.....

I found this product on one of my outings to Walgreens. Its an over night serum that you put on bare lashes. You are supposed to put it on at night and in the morning before you put your mascara on. They also sell a mascara to go along with the line but I'm pretty picky and don't want to try that....just yet. I have been using this product twice a day for about 10 days and I DARE say I think my lashes are looking a little fuller. Hmmmm??? Could it be??? Supposed to take like 4 weeks so I'm very curious to see how they look in another few weeks. For a measly $14.99 could it actually work? As opposed to the $150 Latisse which I would LOVE to try but it's not in the cards for me with that kind of a price tag! I'll keep you posted on the progress!

Cracked Feet???

Since I've been in Florida and back to the flip flops I have been having issues with REALLY nasty heals. So I went to Walgreens and picked up this fabulous "As Seen On TV" product. It goes on kind of like deodorant. Not kidding within a day my feet looked better. One thing though is it is REALLY Greasy. I would recommend keeping it at on your night stand and putting it on RIGHT before you go to bed. Trust me, I almost had a big fall on my way to the bathroom one night because I forgot I had just put it on. I also have been using it on my elbows and it has worked great! I got it at Walgreens but I have also seen it at Target down here. It cost $9.99

A MUST BUY!!!

So I know its been a while but I have to update a few things that I have tried.

My first MUST MUST MUST BUY is Moroccan Oil Treatment. You put it in your hair after you towel dry it. Its a leave in treatment/shine enhancer/makes your hair like nothing you have ever seen before. If EVER there was a product to splurge on THIS IS IT!!!

The only place I have found it in GR is Panopoulos. They have a large bottle for $39 and a small bottle for $14.....

GO BUY IT TODAY!!!
