About 4 years ago I broke up with my long time love THE TANNING BOOTH! It was a clean break, time to stop before I looked as wrinkled as those crinkly dollar bills I used to hand over quickly to the 16 year old girl as I waited anxiously for my turn to darken my pale complexion! As I age I realize that I will be paying in the long run for those many years of lying there for my 15 minutes of super powered sun damage. But when you are a teenager you think you will never age!
Which brings me to what I would consider my #1 beauty product, one that I couldn't live without! THE SUNLESS TANNER! I have tried probably 25 different types, I have spent $35 on a bottle of Estee Lauder, $20 on Clinique, I can't even remember how much the Clarin's was but NOT cheap. I've went through every single brand at the drugstore. I have even tried the Meijer and Target brands. But I keep coming back to my old faithful friend.....JERGENS NATURAL GLOW! Over the years they have updated the product, it smells better and now they have different formulas to either firm and tighten or Revitalize the skin. I love this product because it goes on very well, its not greasy or slimy, the smell is that of a normal lotion AND it keeps my skin hydrated and soft all day. I buy the firming formula in Medium to Tan. I also use the face lotion as part of my morning routine, it is nongreasy, hasn't caused any breakouts and has 20 SPF which is a must, I usually go with the Med to Tan. My newest find is the L'orea Sublime Bronze Spray sunless tanner. I use this for my back, back of my neck, back of my arms. Anything that I cannot reach with my hands. LOVE IT! Who wants to only be tan on the front of your body? I do not use this on my legs, I have tried and its VERY streaky so I stick to only the hard to reach places.
I guess this is one of those instances where I get to have my cake and eat it too. I get to appear tan without the damage of the tanning booth! Being a blonde with blue eyes its like totally unacceptable NOT to be tan! Ha! Perhaps someday I will get over my fear of being pale but for now I'm happy with my FAKE tan!
Ok, I"m gonna LOVE this blog. I've always wondered about these. I too have tried them and come out looking similar to an Oompa Loompa. . . but with more stripes. I'll give these a try. Thanks Liz. Before you know it, we'll be asking you to try products for us.
